FAQ
How is the result worked out?
TypeSafe’s Jev model (jev-1.13.0) judges which subscription to keep if you could only keep one, whether you could still do your current work with the others after cancelling each one, and how oversubscribed you are overall. Every checkup asks five times with the subscriptions in a different order and averages the answers, which evens out the effect of order. Jev does not know these products: it judges only from how you describe your use, so take the result as a pointer, not advice.
What do “cancel”, “it depends” and “keep for now” mean?
If the chance that you could carry on as before without a subscription is 60% or more, it is “cancel”; 40–60% is “it depends”; below 40% is “keep for now”. Only “cancel” subscriptions count toward the savings, and never the one Jev would keep.
Does Jev calculate the savings?
No. The page adds up the prices you entered, and a year is twelve months. Jev only judges whether you could cancel; it never sees your prices.
Is what I enter stored?
No. The names, uses, frequencies and notes are sent through the ToolMelo server to TypeSafe’s Jev API to be judged, and are not written to a database or a log afterwards; prices are only calculated in your browser. To prevent abuse, every checkup needs a Cloudflare Turnstile human check, and one IP address can run 3 checkups a minute.
Are the prefilled prices right?
They are the monthly prices in US dollars (before tax) listed on each vendor’s site in September 2026. Prices differ by region, for annual billing and during promotions, so change them to what you actually pay.
