- Click any cell to start; the first click is never a mine. A number tells how many of the eight cells around it hold mines.
- Flag cells you know are mines with a right-click (long-press on a phone, or switch to flag mode). When a number has all its flags, click it to open the rest of its neighbours. Open every cell that is not a mine to win.
FAQ
Can the first click hit a mine?
No. The mines are laid after your first click and avoid that cell and the eight around it, so the first click always opens an area.
How do I flag on a phone?
Long-press a cell to flag or unflag it, or turn on flag mode so that a tap places a flag; tap the button again to go back to opening.
What does clicking a number do?
When the flags around a number match it, clicking it opens all its other neighbours at once. If a flag is wrong, you hit a mine.
Where is my best time kept?
In this browser on your device. It is not uploaded or compared with anyone, and clearing the browser’s data resets it.
Expert is too wide for my phone
On a narrow screen expert is shown on its side, 16×30, with the same 99 mines.
