How to play Solitaire

- Start with Draw 1 for easier access to the stock, or choose Draw 3 for a tougher challenge. A game is dealt when the page opens.
- Build the seven columns in descending order, alternating red and black: a red 7 can go on a black 8. Only a King or a sequence starting with a King can fill an empty column.
- Move Aces to the four foundation piles, then build each suit up to King. Draw from the stock when you need more cards; you can cycle through it again when it runs out.
- Move all 52 cards to the foundations to win. Use Hint for a possible move or Undo to try another approach.
FAQ
What is the difference between Draw 1 and Draw 3?
Draw 1 reveals one stock card at a time. Draw 3 reveals three, but only the top card is playable. Both modes allow unlimited passes through the stock.
Is Klondike the same as Solitaire or Patience?
Klondike is the seven-column game often called simply Solitaire. Patience is another name used for solitaire card games, especially in the UK.
Does clicking a card choose the best move?
No. It chooses an available destination, preferring a foundation where possible. It does not plan a winning strategy. Drag the card if you want a different destination.
Can every deal be won?
No. Deals are random, and some cannot be solved. Undo lets you explore a different line; New game deals another hand.
Can I finish automatically?
The Finish button appears when all cards are face up and the stock and waste are empty. It moves the remaining cards to the foundations.
Can I leave and continue later?
Your current game is saved in this browser. Return on the same device and browser to continue. Clearing site data removes the save; progress does not sync between devices.
