# AI Writing Sounds Fake. How Do You Make It Sound Human?

Not every sentence needs to “empower” someone.

I asked an AI for a short introduction and got three hundred words. Every sentence flowed, yet together they didn’t say anything.

## First, cut what you’d never say out loud

**A simple test that works: read it aloud.**

If you wouldn’t talk to a friend like that, don’t publish it like that.

- Swap “drive exponential efficiency gains” for “it used to take half an hour; now it takes five minutes.”
- Swap “build a content ecosystem” for what you actually do:
  - write it
  - post it
  - see if anyone replies
- Don’t wrap up every paragraph. Once you’ve made your point, stop.

## Show it something you wrote yourself

Telling it to “sound less like AI” isn’t enough. Let it see how you actually talk.[^1]

It keeps the article structure, theme colors and basic layout; Word uses pages, and fonts and page breaks vary with the device and office software. Local images added with “Insert image” are embedded in the Word file; linked images are kept as a note and a link by default.
